In early 2017 we found out my husband Miguel had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diffuse large B-cell. It was the most frightening and overwhelming time of our lives. To this day I am amazed at how we got through it.

Lymphoma Survivor

I was diagnosed with NHL on October 28, 2019. A day that I will never forget. Several months prior, around April, I was experiencing bronchitis/cold symptoms. I was prescribed an inhaler and prednisone as it appeared to be bronchitis. The condition returned in August and I was prescribed prednisone again.

We were living the American dream. I married my college sweetheart Michael, and we celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary last fall. We have a wonderful son, who is engaged to a fabulous young woman, and they have launched their life together in Indianapolis.

NHL Survivor

On December 29, 2011, I heard those numbing words “you have cancer.” I was 23 years old, about to turn 24 and my whole world came to a screeching halt. After months of feeling “off,” multiple visits to all kinds of doctors, repeat blood work, scans and biopsies, it was finally determined that I had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
