SurvivorMy name is Glenn Gutierrez and at 48 years of age I had never contemplated the idea of having to deal with cancer and its treatment. It was hard to think that potentially I could succumb to this, especially when I was father to two young men who still needed me, and son to an aging mother who sadly passed on from complications related to Alzheimer's while I underwent treatment.

SupportersDave and I have been a part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) since 1998. I can’t even remember how many Team In Training events we’ve done. We have both done at least one a year if not more since Michael, our son, was diagnosed.

SurvivorI've been a cancer survivor since my bone marrow transplant at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in 2004. I have minimal side effects and continue doing what I love -- spending time with family and friends, cycling, and teaching high school photography and video production. One year after my transplant I did my first Team In Training event, a century ride in Lake Tahoe.

VolunteerIt all started with a race... I began running back in 2011 with the sole purpose of losing weight. I joined a running group and became interested in races, specifically the Nike Women's Half Marathon.

SupporterIn the summer of 2006 I received a letter in the mail much like what you get around the holidays telling of the adventures over the past year. My friend had recently moved to Tucson with her family. She shared pictures of their kids and told about the transition from the Seattle area to Tucson.
