Hodgkin lymphoma (HL)

I am 27 years old. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) at the age of 19. Before being diagnosed with cancer, I had so many plans and dreams to pursue for my life. But my life took a 360-degree turn, not knowing the symptoms would turn into a nightmare for my life. In June 2016, when my doctor told us that I had cancer, that for me, honestly, was hard to process. I realized that I had to be strong to fight this cancer. There are no words to describe what it feels like to go through cancer as a human, but in life, we don’t know what the future has for us to face. So, that is why I enjoy every moment of life because we don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

Fast forward to 2023, and I’m celebrating my seventh anniversary of being cancer-free. It is truly a blessing to be here and healthy. I want to say thank you to God for giving me the strength and the faith that he would heal me from cancer. I want to say thank you to myself because I was able to be positive while fighting this battle and seeing that life is fragile, and we are only here for a moment. So, now I enjoy every moment that life gifts me, having health to collect beautiful memories that will be forever in my heart.
