stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma (HL)

In the summer of 2020, I was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) after finding a lump in my chest. I had just finished track and field in my sophomore year of high school and thought that the lump in my chest was a popped rib or something with an easy fix. It wasn't.

The rest of my summer was drowned out by chemotherapy. Every week my mom drove me two hours to the hospital so I could be filled with chemicals, and it was the worst feeling in the world. I used video games and streaming as an escape from my daily pains. I grew a community online of people I loved talking to and hanging around. It truly brought light to my terribly dark situation and brought me the happiness I needed to power through.

After a few rounds of chemo, the tumor under my ribs was gone, and I was in remission from that point on. I soon finished high school and moved on to college where I found the best and most supportive friends I could ever ask for. I'm now starting my second year of college, still streaming with my online community, and talking to the people who helped me when I needed it most.
