Meet The Researcher: Dr. Christopher R. Flowers
In this Q&A, we are highlighting Dr. Christopher R. Flowers, MD, chair of Lymphoma and Myeloma at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and LLS National Board Member. Later this week, Dr. Flowers will be speaking on a timely panel about diversity in hematology clinical trials at AACR 2021.
Meet The Researcher: Dr. Rayne Rouce
To commemorate Black History Month, LLS is highlighting exceptional clinicians and healthcare professionals throughout the month of February. Dr. Rayne Rouce is a physician at Texas Children's Cancer Center where she is a member of the Leukemia/Lymphoma/Bone Marrow Transplant/Stem Cell Transplant Program. Dr. Rouce is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric hematology/oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Meet the Researcher: Omar Abdel-Wahab, MD
Dr. Abdel-Wahab of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center focuses on an area of research called epigenetics – chemical modifications that regulate (switch on and off) gene activity. He is studying how these processes drive the development of acute myeloid leukemia and other blood cancers. He currently holds a Career Development Program grant from LLS, a program that supports scientists earlier in their careers.
