Indications and Usage
Procarbazine is FDA approved with other anticancer drugs for the treatment of stage III and IV Hodgkin lymphoma. Procarbazine is used as part of the MOPP (mechlorethamine, Oncovin® [vincristine], procarbazine, prednisone) regimen. This medicine may cause a temporary loss of hair in some people. After treatment with procarbazine has ended, normal hair growth should return.
Side effects needing medical attention
Chest pains; rapid or irregular heartbeat; severe headache; stiff neck. These may be symptoms of a serious high blood pressure reaction that should have a doctor's attention. Other side effects needing medical attention are: Hallucinations (seeing, hearing or feeling things that are not there); convulsions; unsteadiness; difficulty walking; confusion; headache; tingling or numbness in fingers or toes; fever; chills; sore throat; unusual bruising or bleeding; sores on mouth or lips; hives; rash; itching; unusual tiredness or fatigue; sleeplessness; stomach pain; yellow discoloration of skin or eyes; darkening of skin; bloody vomit; blurred or reduced vision; reduced hearing; increased urination; blood in urine; sweating; weakness; muscle or joint pain; swelling in legs or ankles; cough; dizziness or lightheadedness when getting up from a lying or sitting position; feeling of warmth or redness in face; nausea and vomiting; weight loss; constipation.
