Alexis' Angels

Alexis’ Angels is a holiday gift-giving program coordinated by generous Chapter volunteers, Jim and Patty White. The White family lost their daughter, Alexis, years ago to a blood cancer. Since then, Jim and Patty have partnered with the Illinois Chapter to run a holiday charity program in her memory. The family, along with additional "angel" volunteers, provide gifts for children and families in need. To be considered for the program, patients must complete the application as well as a needs/wishes list. Please note, if both of these forms are not completed, the patient cannot be accepted into the program. If you have additional questions about the program, please contact Michelle Mayer at michelle.mayer@lls.org or via phone at 312-568-7736.

This program is now closed for 2019. Please check back in the fall of 2020 for more information, including the 2020 application and needs/wishes lists.

Who qualifies?
All of the following qualifications need to be met in order to be considered:

  • Families with children who are receiving treatment for blood cancer (within the last two years) and are under age 18

  • Families facing financial hardship. Applicants will be asked to describe why assistance is needed

  • Families who are residents of Illinois; Northwest Indiana; or Kenosha County, Wisconsin

Those submitting for a child living with a blood cancer should complete BOTH the Patients Application and the Needs & Wishes List. These forms will be available in the fall of 2020 for the holiday season.

To learn about how to become an "angel," and help to donate the gifts that will be given, please contact Michelle Mayer at michelle.mayer@lls.org or 312-568-7736.
