large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL)I was diagnosed with large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) on May 2, 2023. It was such a shock to me, but months prior to the diagnosis, I already wasn’t feeling well. I was dealing with body aches every day, and nothing would help take the pain away. It wasn’t until I had a bad case of food poisoning that I ended up in the ER.

non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma (B-NHL)My life has been an interesting journey. In April 2019, I lost my wife of 20 years, and in August 2020, I lost my older brother to leukemia. My wife was 50, and my brother was 64. After several months of excruciating pain in my abdomen, I was finally diagnosed with non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma (B-NHL) in May 2021. I was 58.

stage 3 T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL)It all happened 23 years ago. I had gone to my primary care physician (PCP) for an earache, then showed him the moveable lump on the left side of my neck. After I was diagnosed with stage 3 T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), I lost my hair halfway through doing CHOP chemotherapy, and then two weeks later, I did radiation daily while working nights.

diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (DLBCL)In 2018, I had what I thought was a urinary tract infection (UTI). It ended up being a tumor in my bladder the size of a lime. It turned out to be diffuse large B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (DLBCL). I ended up doing six rounds of R-CHOP chemo with Neulasta® and a month of radiation afterward.

stage 4 non-Hodgkin Burkitt lymphomaMy name is Bryan, but most know me by my stage name Hennessy Williams. I was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin Burkitt lymphoma (BL) on July 1st, 2005. I was 20 years old. It was the hardest battle I ever faced, I am lucky to be here, I am lucky to be alive. I am alive because I had a tremendous amount of support from my family and friends, not everyone is blessed with this option.

primary mediastinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma (PMBL)I moved to Chicago in May 2022. I had recently finished my joint PhD in Social Work and Psychology from the University of Michigan and was offered a job as a People Analytics Researcher at Google. I loved the city and enjoyed frequent runs and cycling rides along Lake Shore Drive.

non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL)I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) at the age of 30 after experiencing severe symptoms (cough, shortness of breath). I’m currently under treatment in Italy, my home country, and only have one round of chemo left.
