He was getting ready for his last semester of high school and ready to pursue his dreams of playing college volleyball when life confronted him with a massive health battle. He spent the next six months putting up a constant fight and underwent 12 chemotherapy treatments.

After multiple blood tests, CT scans, and a biopsy of the neck, I was diagnosed with HL. I had to undergo 12 rounds of chemotherapy in total.

In April 2023, I started to notice that I was having trouble breathing. I was a perfectly healthy 34-year-old woman who did kickboxing three times a week and was very physically active. I ended up going to a doctor who, for three months, misdiagnosed me with asthma and acid reflux. After about three visits to his office, I was crying to him, begging to be referred to a specialist.
My name is Jessi, and I am a stage 4B Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) survivor. My journey to diagnosis was a long and winding road, filled with misdiagnoses until January 2016 when my battle truly began. That year was the toughest of my life, enduring the rigors of chemo and radiation.
