Man & Woman of the Year

Each year, in communities across the country, dedicated candidates engage in an exciting competition to earn LLS’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles. Raising funds for LLS blood cancer research and patient support, the candidates compete in honor of children who are local blood cancer survivors, the Boy & Girl of the Year. Every dollar raised counts as one vote and the titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the end of this 10 week campaign. Top local fundraisers are also eligible to win national titles. Man & Woman of the Year runs March through June and concludes with a Grand Finale celebration.

Light The Night

Light The Night is LLS’s annual evening fundraising Walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Every fall, over 140 communities across North America come together for this inspirational and memorable event. The light and warmth we generate delivers hope in time of despair, community in place of loneliness and life-saving research and support for cancer patients and their families. We are bringing light to the darkness of cancer. From the end of September through October, the Eastern PA Chapter of LLS hosts four Light The Night events.

Team In Training

Team in Training is the flagship fundraising program for LLS and the only charity endurance sports training program that raises money for blood cancer research. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned athlete, our team will get you ready for race day with professional training and coaching, customized fundraising support and exclusive event weekend experiences. There are Team In Training opportunities taking place through-out the year.

Students of the Year

Students of the Year is a philanthropic leadership development program where highly motivated high students foster professional skills including entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management while raising funds for LLS. The title Student(s) of the Year is awarded to the candidate or co-candidate team in each community who raises the most funds during this seven-week competition. In addition to the title, the winner also receives a $2,500 scholarship towards the college or university of their choice. Students of the Year runs January through March and concludes with a Grand Finale celebration.
