LLS Appoints Chief People Officer

We are delighted to share that, effective immediately, Dale Nissenbaum has been formally appointed as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Chief People Officer, which she will assume in addition to her role as General Counsel.

Dale has been skillfully leading LLS’s team of 27 Human Resources professionals as Interim Chief People Officer since March 2022. Her breadth of experience, familiarity with LLS, and strong leadership and relationship-building qualities make her the right person to lead our very talented HR and Legal teams into the future.

In addition to having previous experience leading HR teams, Dale has demonstrated the success factors critical for the Chief People Officer role: Leadership, Empathy, Critical Thinking, and an “Ask and Listen” attitude. Dale has an inquisitive nature and analytical approach, always with the best interest of staff, constituents, and LLS in mind.

Dale has over 25 years of legal experience, developed at both public and private companies. Before joining LLS as General Counsel in 2020, to lead the Legal and Compliance functions, she was the General Counsel, Americas, for Brunswick Group, a global critical communications firm, where she served as strategic partner and advisor to senior management on business and legal issues from 2012 to 2019. Before that she was the General Counsel and Chief Human Resources Officer at a privately held manufacturing company. Dale started her career on Wall Street, and while in private practice she was a mergers and acquisitions attorney at Weil. She has a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University School of Law.
