PhRMA Recognized as 2013 "Titan of Business & Philanthropy" At the Annual Leukemia Ball The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) today announced they will honor the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) as a Titan of Business & Philanthropy at the 2013 Leukemia Ball. The Titans of Business & Philanthropy program recognizes individuals or companies making an extraordinary difference in the community. Helping individuals live longer, healthier lives, PhRMA is a leader in their industry, with member companies investing over $500 billion in the search for new treatments and cures since 2000, including an estimated $49.5 billion in 2011 alone. The Leukemia Ball will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, with entertainment by Dana Carvey, and Jim Belushi and the Sacred Heart Band. The event is expected to raise $3.1 million for LLS's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
