Target Audience
Oncology nurse practitioners, nurses, and social workers involved in the care of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Description
This educational opportunity provides insight into the complex diagnosis of ALL, including tests and procedures, approved and emerging treatment options. This program also discusses goals of treatment, side effect management, and healthcare professional considerations when caring for these patients. The goal is to help enhance participant’s knowledge of ALL, improve patient management, and provide resources for educating and supporting patients, to foster improved patient outcomes.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Describe the various types and subtypes of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
- Identify tests used to diagnose disease and monitor treatment of ALL
- Explain the overarching goals of treatment for ALL
- Explain approved and emerging treatment options for ALL, including stem cell transplantation, and the role of clinical trial
- Describe strategies to manage treatment side effects as well as potential long-term and late effects of treatments for ALL
- Describe the healthcare professional’s role in managing patients with ALL

Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under Provider Number CEP 5832 to award 2.5 continuing education contact hours through the California Board of Registered Nursing.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Provider Number 1105, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 12/10/2023-12/10/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 2.5 clinical continuing education credits.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is recognized by the New York State Education Departments State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0117.
