Guy

In Memory

My wife and I would have never heard of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) if it were not for losing our 12-year-old daughter on March 12, 2013 to undiagnosed leukemia. If you've heard me speak of my daughter Sophia, you've heard this word: perfect. Her laugh, her eyes, her beautiful smile were all perfect. Sophia was a loving, kind and compassionate child. She loved her friends, her dogs (Katie & Daisy), and her family. Perfect. Sophia's story is very different from others. From first symptom to her death was three days.

The support and empathy from LLS have changed our lives forever. Reaching out to people who know our pain and can understand how our lives will never be the same brought comfort. The work of LLS through Team In Training, Man & Woman of the Year, and especially Light The Night continues to change the lives of my entire family. We are dedicated to honoring Sophia through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

My wife and I have decided to live our lives and include Sophia every step of the way. We will never forget Sophia and the joy she brought to our lives for 12 years. It was truly a blessing and an honor to be her mother and father.
