White Plains, NY (November 19, 2014) - For the 13th consecutive year, Burlington Stores and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Light The Night®  partnered to shine the spotlight on the urgent need for blood cancer cures. All Burlington store locations encouraged its customers nationwide to donate to the cause at check-out.  With its 15-week in-store promotion, the company raised more than $3 million, making Burlington LLS's #1 national corporate partner for the 11th consecutive year. Since the partnership began, Burlington has collected more than $22 million to help LLS fund therapies for blood cancer research and ensure patients have access to lifesaving treatments.

"Our partnership with Burlington is helping to bring us closer to our vision of a world without blood cancers," said Louis J. DeGennaro, PhD, LLS president and chief executive officer. "And we are making an impact.  We've invested more than $1 billion in research to advance new therapies for blood cancer patients.  Funds raised by Burlington this Fall will help LLS invest in research to advance new treatments, like targeted therapies that zero in on cancer cells and kill them, and immunotherapies that use a patient?s own immune system to kill cancer," said  DeGennaro.

"At Burlington, we are proud to partner with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the 13th consecutive year to raise funds for research and therapies for blood cancer patients. Our more than 30,000 associates nationwide are committed to helping to find a cure and I am proud of all our associates and very thankful to our millions of generous customers nationwide for their tremendous support," said Tom Kingsbury, Chairman and CEO, Burlington Stores.

LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients and their families. LLS is saving lives not someday, but today.  Thanks to research and access to better treatments, survival rates have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled since 1960, and these would not be possible without the generosity of partners such as Burlington and their customers and associates.
