Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection peer to peer programis a telephone-based one-on-one peer support program between newly diagnosed patients & caregivers, or bereaved family members & care givers at any time during or after the death of a loved one.
How it works.
LLS makes the connection between the patient, caregiver, or bereaved, with a well-trained peer volunteer who has shared a similar experience with a blood cancer diagnosis and been carefully trained to provide either survivorship or bereavement support.
The Annual Remembrance Ceremony At Dusk before every Light the Night Walk, walkers gather for an annual Remembrance Ceremony to acknowledge those who have lost their battles with blood cancer and remember them.
"Today we gather to remember our loved one who has died. They are not here physically with us but they will forever live in our hearts and minds. We are not alone any more in our grief because today we support one another as we walk in our journey of grief."
