Estate Planning Tools

Building your estate plan can sound like a daunting task.  It needn’t be!  Here we’ve supplied you with all of the tools you need to begin. 

We recommend taking a moment to review the ways you can give to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), so that you can, with the help of your advisors, create the estate plan that works best for you.  In our brochure, Your Gift, Your Legacy*, we’ll guide you through the differences between a Bequest, Charitable Gift Annuity, Trusts, and Beneficiary Designation.

Next, we recommend taking a piece of paper and folding it in half lengthwise.  On the left side, list all of your assets – money, stocks, real estate, art – everything.  On the right side, list all of the people in your life that you would like to receive a part of your estate.  Then draw arrows connecting assets to people.

Use this piece of paper as a guide as you open our Estate Planning kit, Building Your Legacy*.  This kit takes you, step by step, through the process of building your estate plan. To order a hard copy of the Estate Planning Kit, please complete the order form.  

Once you have a basic understanding of the ways in which you can make your gift, and whom you would like to include, you’ll want to consult your tax advisor for additional professional input regarding any tax benefits. Completed, these documents are a valuable tool to bring with you to your meeting with your estate attorney.  Having this information on hand will save you time – and money – in completing your wishes.
