LLS Events - Washington/Alaska

 Events Year-Round

TNT leads the way as a charity endurance sports training program. With three training seasons each year, TNT Coaches provide the training and motivation for you to run, walk, or run/walk a marathon, half marathon, or triathlon. While you train, mentors and staff give you the tools you need to help raise funds for cures.

Sailors spend the day on the beautiful waters of Elliott Bay aboard boats of all sizes then head ashore for a great party featuring a barbecue dinner, drinks, live music and more. Beginning sailors, seasoned pros, competitive racers and casual cruisers are invited to participate in this boating community tradition.

Each year dynamic and passionate candidates engage in a spirited competition to earn "Man & Woman of the Year" titles. Every dollar raised during the 10-week competition counts as one vote. Titles are awarded to the man and woman with the most votes at the MWOY Grand Finale Gala.

Local schools are making a difference in the fight for a cure….one penny at a time. Student Series and Olive Garden’s Pasta for Pennies campaigns teach compassion and build character as students across Washington and Alaska collect spare change to help kids with cancer.

Our annual evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Each Fall, teams of friends, families and co-workers gather to walk three miles in twilight carrying illuminated lanterns; red for supporters, white for survivors and gold to honor and remember those touched by blood cancers. The evening includes music, food and family activities.

While the global pandemic might not allow us to be together to climb to the top of the Columbia Center in full combat gear and self contained breathing apparati (SCBA), it can't stop us from climbing at home, in our stations, or our neighborhoods. The LLS Firefighter Stairclimb has gone virtual. On June 13, 2020, we climb as one. The Firefighter Stairclimb supports the LLS mission through individual and department fundraising.

The Students of the Year campaign is a philanthropic leadership development program for high-school leaders. Student leaders fundraise for LLS in honor of children who are blood cancer survivors. The title Student(s) of the Year is awarded to the candidate or co-candidate team in each community that raises the most funds during the 7-week competition.
