LLS volunteers make a significant impact while selflessly dedicating their time and talent to achieve our mission.  With countless ways to engage, from fundraising to providing patient support, our volunteers are helping us change the landscape of cancer.

We appreciate your desire to be a part of the LLS family.  LLS has opportunities for a variety of skill sets and to accommodate a wide-range of time commitments. Volunteer with LLS in your area and make a difference in the lives of those touched by blood cancer.

A few of the areas you can help:

  • Man & Woman of the Year
  • Students of the Year
  • Student Series (Pennies for Patients)
  • Light The Night Walk
  • Team In Training
  • Other local campaigns and events
  • General office support
  • Patient Services and family support groups
  • Advocacy

Every LLS event needs volunteers in roles such as:

  • Event Planning and/or logistics
  • Event Promotion
  • Soliciting donations
  • Registering participants at the door
  • Assisting with set-up, clean-up and breakdown
  • And more….

LLS also needs volunteers willing to share their expertise:

  • Let us know your area of expertise, such as public relations, marketing, finance, fundraising and event planning
  • Serve on your local LLS chapter's board of trustees or a committee
  • Tell us what you like to do, and we'll find a volunteer role to fit you.

LLS also offers a comprehensive array of services to patients and families touched by blood cancers. Our Chapter Patient Access, Education and Advocacy Department works with a team of volunteers to provide these services to patients throughout the state.

Honored Hero Program - an Honored Hero is a dedicated individual or family member, affected by a blood cancer, who serves as an inspiration and provides support to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). First Connection Volunteer - Are you interested in offering caring support and information to newly diagnosed patients by sharing your special perspective on the cancer recovery process? Then sign up to become a volunteer with our Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program! First Connection is a peer-to-peer program that links newly diagnosed patients and family members with trained volunteers who have experienced blood cancer firsthand.
