acute lymphoblastic survivor

survive & thrive
22-month-old Madalyn went with her mother to her pediatrician on November 12, 2011, because she was experiencing high fevers and trouble walking. Initial blood tests determined Madalyn was anemic and she was sent immediately to the local hospital for more tests. After many long hours and lots of tests, it was confirmed that Maddy had acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
After a long and grueling nine months of intensive treatment, Maddy is now in long-term maintenance and is doing amazingly well.
"We are so thankful for our doctors, nurses, friends and family who have stood by our side and supported us during this crisis," says Maddy's mom. "And we are so incredibly grateful for the advances in treatment that are making it possible for our precious daughter to survive and thrive."hide full story
