Questions Asked by the Myeloma Community

  • What is the name of the blood test used to determine the aggressiveness of myeloma?
  • Can you explain intravenous immunoglobulins?
  • What is considered complete remission?
  • Which drug, lenalidomide (Revlimid®) or dexamethasone, will lower platelets, lower white cells and lower blood protein? Which drug damages the good cells as well as the bad cells?
  • Are there treatment options that won't make someone's neuropathy worse?
  • If someone has IgA myeloma, and activity shows up in another band, what is this an indication of?
  • How often should a 24 hour urine test be done, what other sorts of tests should be done and how frequent do you recommend them?
  • Is it possible to go back to using IV bortezomib (Velcade®) if there are more problems getting it subcutaneously?
