And the winner is...
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
Each year, prolific members of the Greater Lexington community vie for the titles of Man & Woman of the Year. This philanthropic competition benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Candidates run in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year. These titles are awarded to a boy and a girl in our community who are either currently in treatment for a blood cancer or are survivors of a blood cancer. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is pleased to announce the 2008 Boy & Girl of the year Will Oldham and Melody Howell!

The nine-week competition is a glorious testament to the strength and dedication of the human spirit. Candidates will showcase their committment to the mission as they enthusiastically raise funds to battle blood cancers. From March 6th to May 10th, candidates will rally with their campaign teams in a nine-week effort to seek out sponsorships and donations.
The competition will reach its apex on Saturday, May 10th, during the grand finale celebration at Dixiana Farm. The event will feature Kentucky bourbon tastings, silent and live auctions, dancing to live music, and a colossal display of support from the community.
