How Common Is JMML?
- Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia (JMML) is a rare cancer that makes up about 1.5 percent of all childhood leukemia cases.
- JMML generally affects infants and children younger than 6 years old.
- JMML is often diagnosed in infants between ages 3 months and 12 months but rarely diagnosed in newborns.
- The median age at diagnosis is 2 years old.
- About two-and-a-half times as many males than females are diagnosed with JMML.
