Clinical Trials: Improving Treatments for Cancer

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invites nurses and other related health care professionals to Clinical Trials: Improving Treatments for Cancer.  The program will educate nurses and social workers about the role of clincal trials and how to communicate options to patients and caregivers. The program will be held Thursday, March 29, 2012, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Chef's Restaurant, 291 Seneca St. , Buffalo, NY. Topics covered will include: how new drugs are discovered, researched and approved for treatment, how to sepaerate myth from fact about clinical trials, how to identify benefits and risks of clinical trial participation and how to search for clincal trial listings for cancer.
