Basic Function:  Responsible for managing multiple or complex campaigns or projects including strategic planning, budgeting and implementation for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society within the chapter's chartered geographic area (San Diego/Hawaii). Management responsibility for assigned financial and human resources.
Work Direction: Works under the supervision and direction of the Chapter Executive Director, requiring management approval for activities outside the annual Plan of  Operation.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  •  Program Planning - Develops a comprehensive strategic, multi-year Plan of Operations for Team In Training which includes a specific budget (revenue and expenses), volunteer leadership engagement, timeline, logistics, recruitment, marketing and sponsorship plan.
  •   Revenue Generation & Expense Controls - Ensure plans and resources are in place to achieve, at a minimum, program's approved net campaign revenue budget and achieve a personal financial goal via corporation, foundation, team or participant recruitment.
  • Tracks income and expenses and facilitates comprehensive campaign records, evaluations and reports program's operating expenses within approved annual operating expense budget
  • Human Resources

    •  Staff - Lead and supervise; participate in hiring and training of TNT staff. Develop staff structure and assignments, as needed.  Motivate and empower staff increasing engagement and productivity.
    • Coaches - Participate in hiring, training and supervision of TNT coaches.
    • Ensure coaches meet all policy needs and receive adequate support and training to support the mission, participant and marketing goals of the program.
    • Hold reviews with coaching staff at least twice during the season (recommitment and post event).

    Volunteers - Responsible for managing Executive Leadership volunteer committee (i.e. recruitment, training, motivation, supervision and evaluation) required to implement chapter Team in Training annual plan. Ensure honored team mate program is in place and working to support the mission.

      Corporate Development - In collaboration with Community and Corporate Development Director, lead and manage  corporate engagement activities to include team, media, in-kind and cash sponsorships through a coordinated chapter plan that includes proposal development, prospect identification, cultivation, retention and recognition.
      Marketing - Develops marketing, lead generation and outreach plan to identify target audiences and monitoring strategies to successfully recruit, acknowledge, and retain event donors/participants.

    •   Assists, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other chapter activities.
    •   Maintains a working knowledge of the LLS mission and its programs to address them.
    •   Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
    • Highly organized and professional demeanor.
    • Resourcefulness, promotions savvy and problem solving acumen.
    • Good computer skills (word processing and database programs)
    • Minimum preferred education - Bachelor`s degree
    • 4-6 or more years fund raising and communications, sales, or marketing experience.
    • Demonstrated staff management capabilities.
