Position Title: Marketing Intern (Unpaid)  Dallas
North Texas Chapter
Dallas, Texas

Position Summary:

• LLS is seeking an energetic individual to provide marketing support for the Chapter's Dallas office, specifically within the special events department.  The intern will assist in recruiting new event participants, maintaining databases, performing community outreach, assisting volunteers and providing administrative support.  This is a great opportunity to experience working in a nonprofit environment with potential for advancement.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain ongoing communication with campaign prospects, participants and alumni
• Assist in the generating and execution of grassroot marketing initiatives
• Assist in the monitoring and maintaining of chapter websites for consistency, accuracy and overall effectiveness
• Assists in the creation and distribution of press lists, media advisories, calendar listings, pitch letters and press releases
• Assist in the collection of media clips and the creation of a media binder to archive clips
• Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission

Position Requirements:

• Must be enrolled in a four year institution
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Professional demeanor
• Creative
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office and database management
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and the ability to work independently

Must be able to dedicate 15-20 hours per week.  Work hours are flexible in order to work around class schedules.

This internship is unpaid.  The potential for class credit is available pending school approval.
