The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year Campaign Returns For Its 21st Year

(Alexandria, VA) - The 2012 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign is underway, and 18 local men and women have set out to collectively raise $1.1 million in just ten weeks for the fight against blood cancer. These dynamic individuals, hailing from throughout the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, will utilize their networks to raise funds in honor of the Boy & Girl of the Year, Isaac Duck & Sophia Becraft, young blood cancer survivors.

The 2012 campaign kicked off on April 6, at District Bar & Grille, where candidates gathered their top supporters and campaign teams to rally for the 10-week drive. Candidates will raise funds through donations, sponsorships, in-kind opportunities and events. The top male and female fundraiser will be named Man & Woman of the Year at the Grand Finale Gala, held at The Ritz-Carlton on Saturday, June 16.
