Meet Tyler, Ashton and Arlene. They never gave
up. LLS will never give up.
Tyler was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) 30 days before his 12th birthday. When the doctor first met Tyler, he shook his head in disbelief at the sight of Tyler bravely walking into the office. The doctor explained that patients with blood counts as low as Tyler?s are typically unable to get out of bed. Following that day, Tyler endured nine months of treatment and isolation.
TODAY Tyler is 14 years old - enjoying school, playing golf, and amazing his family with his wakeboarding skills!
Ashton was two years old when he was diagnosed with T-cell ALL. The day he was diagnosed the doctor encouraged his parents to gather family and loved ones to say goodbye because the odds were unlikely that Ashton would live to see Thanksgiving - just five days away.
TODAY Ashton is 17 years old ? acting in school and professional theater, researching colleges, and lighting up the lives of those around him!
Arlene was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin?s lymphoma (NHL) at the age of 41. After three failed rounds of chemotherapy, the doctor told Arlene they had run out of treatment options. Determined and undaunted, she located and enrolled in a cutting-edge clinical trial funded by LLS.
TODAY Arlene is 61 years old ? celebrating 20 years of survival, running marathons, and learning to swim in order to participate in her first triathlon.

TODAY LLS continues to persevere - supporting 400 researchers, investing in 14 clinical trials, and ensuring patients have access to quality, affordable care.
Despite progress, today more than one third of blood cancer patients do not survive five years after diagnosis. More funding is needed to advance research and ensure access to treatments. Please make a gift at www.llsdonate.org.
