How Swim-a-thon Works:
Each swimmer receives an envelope to collect pledges for every lap that he or she will swim.
During the Swim-a-thon, swimmers will swim as many laps as they can. Afterwards, swimmers will collect the money for the pledges they received. LLS provides all your materials and will even assist the day of your event to make it a splashing success! The top swimmers have the opportunity to earn awards and prizes- find out more about our incentives here!
NEW Honorary Chair, Olympian Klete Keller!
Three-time Olympic swimmer, Klete Keller, has teamed up with LLS as the Swim-a-thon Honorary Chair. Klete was on Team USA for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He swam the anchor leg for the 2004 4x200 meter freestyle relay along with Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Peter Vanderkaay and helped bring home the gold for the USA in an unforgettable match up with Team Australia!
TOP fundraising swimmers could earn a chance to attend a swim clinic and gain some tips from Klete!
How easy it is to MAKE WAVES
Imagine if each swimmer on your team did the following:
5 pledges @ 25¢ per lap x 50 laps
(avg. number of laps) = $62
Each swimmer would raise enough funds to educate an oncology clinic about LLS?s services available to patients! For more fundraising tips, click here!
