2014 National Pancake Day Honored Hero - Asad. On June 12, 2012, Asad was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) at the age of four. Currently undergoing treatment, Asad and his family joyfully look forward to January 2016 when his treatment comes to an end. Today, six-year-old Asad is an energetic and happy boy who like running freely, eating turkey sausage for breakfast, and playing with his older brother Amir.
