Campaign Manager - Fundraising

Title:  Campaign Manager - Fundraising ? Team In Training (Marathons)
Location: National Capital Area Chapter, Alexandria, VA

Basic Overview and Function:  Team In Training® (TNT) is a fundraising campaign that benefits The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by training and preparing participants for marathons, half marathons, triathlons and cycle events.  The Campaign Manager, Fundraising will be responsible for maximizing funds raised for TNT through the marathon sports program.

Work Direction:
Works under the supervision, direction and training of the chapter's Sr. Campaign Manager, Fundraising to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cultivating and building strong relationships for the mission of LLS.  Identify and cultivate long term volunteers.
  • Directly responsible for the execution and management of the marathon program.
  • Recruit and cultivate participants for the marathon program and work closely with each participant to ensure individual fundraising goals are met.  Monitor fundraising progress of assigned participants to determine appropriate strategies to ensure overall fundraising goals are met.
  • Oversee and manage assigned fundraising participants. Alongside participants, develop fundraising goals and an executable plan for reaching those goals. 
  • Determine most effective workflow of participant management.
  • Maintain constant communication ? via in-person meetings, telephone calls and email correspondence ? with top tier participants.
  • Coordinate details for assigned teams with Operations Team.
  • Communicate appropriate information regarding logistical details to assigned teams.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for marathon events.
  • Assist, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other chapter activities.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Society's mission and its programs to address them.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years related fundraising, communications, management, marketing and/ or sales experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Highly professional demeanor. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and judgment.
  • Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles.
  • Excellent computer skills (word processing and database management
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.  
  • Minimum education- Bachelor?s degree
