Position(s):  Light The Night Campaign Assistant (Temporary position)? 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE!!!
Work week: 35 hours per week (some evenings and weekends)

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, National Capital Area Chapter is seeking an energetic, personable, detail-oriented Campaign Assistant to support the team during the upcoming Light The Night Walks.  This position will provide a recent graduate with an excellent opportunity to learn more about non-profits, event planning and fundraising.

Duties and responsibilities include:
 
Communications/Marketing/Correspondence

  • Assist with the  recruitment and management of past and new fundraising participants
  • Assist with communicating with participants and sponsors through phone calls and one-on-one meetings
  • Support participant fundraising efforts
  • Assist with execution of all large correspondence
  • Assist with creation, preparation and assembly of program materials
  • Field incoming questions about programs
  • Assist in recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Database Management

  • Enter new registrants and volunteers for programs
  • Track team fundraising goals and totals
  • Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word knowledge required

Program Management

  • Assist with planning and logistics of the three Light The Night Walks
  • Plan, implement and coordinate elements of grassroots marketing activities to ensure the success of events and enhance public awareness of LLS
  • Must be able to lift up to 30-50 lbs
  • Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed throughout the DC, Northern VA, and Montgomery County market

The ideal candidate will be a recent college graduate with experience planning events and fundraising.  Candidates must be comfortable on the phone and making presentations. The position is a temporary appointment and will not exceed November 7, 2014.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health organization dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin?s disease and myeloma, and improving the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS currently maintains 61 chapters nationwide and the National Capital Area Chapter is among the highest revenue-generating chapters in the nation.
