Light The Night Administrative Assistant


How many people can answer the question, "What do you do for a living?" with the answer, "I help find cures for cancer." Position Title: Light The Night Temp, Long Island Chapter, Hauppauge, NY


Seeking an outgoing, organized and hard working individual to provide superior administrative support and diverse projects to the Special Events Department?s for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) on Long Island. The temp will work under the supervision of the Special Events Staff to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities. Great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the areas of: business and non-profit operations, development and fundraising, marketing & PR, and community relations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with staff to ensure a high level of customer service..
  • Provide administrative support for the Light The Night campaign.
  •  Provide support for all mailings.
  • Logistical support for meetings and events.
  • Learn various LLS databases, and help to keep them updated.
  • Research, order, and maintain an accurate inventory of supplies.
  • Edit campaign materials.
  • Provide support maintaining campaign websites.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society mission and its programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent word processing and database management skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and professional demeanor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed to excellence.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Professional maturity, strong interpersonal skills and judgment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Tech savvy, i.e. eMarketing, Facebook and Twitter
  • Confidentiality with all campaign information
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities
