Examples of Past Events
Shed Fest 2012: A craft beer release party in Lisle, IL raised $5,200.
Jade's Lemonade Stand: 7-year-old Jade opened a lemonade stand on the hottest day of the year and raised $105.
Denim Day: At an office Denim Day, co-workers pay $5 or $10 to wear jeans at work for a day. See if your company has a Matching Gift Program, submit the paperwork and you can double your efforts! One supporter raised $1,030 this way.
Lax 4 Leukemia: This annual lacrosse tournament held in Northbrook, IL raised over $10,000 in 2012.
Three Hour Tour: Friends held an island-themed Lake Michigan boat cruise.
Other past events include a memorial hockey tournament, a Valentine's Day dance and an annual Thanksgiving rugby tournament (see flier).

Power of Your Donation
$1,000 Assists in the organization of 47 Illinois support groups and education programs for patients, and contributes to LLS-sponsored blood cancer research.
$500 Allows 10 patients to log on to a webcast and hear the latest information in treatment for their disease.
$250 Allows 5 patients to make a First Connection with a trained peer volunteer.
$200 Helps supply researchers with supplies and materials critical to their search for cures.
$100 Provides a patient with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma with financial aid that he or she can use for medical treatment and travel to medical appointments for one year.

$75 Average cost of tissue-typing to become a bone marrow donor.
$50 Provides a family support group with a trained facilitator to provide comfort and help patients and families share experiences.
$40 Will educate 4 school employees on how to ease the transition back to school for a child with cancer.
$35 Will purchase 35 Charlie Brown DVDs to explain cancer to pediatric patients & schools.
$25 Provides patients and their loved ones with free booklets that contain up-to-date information on their disease and help them make informed decisions about treatment options.
