Position Title: School & Youth Intern - Illinois Chapter
Position Classification: Part-Time
Reports to: School & Youth Senior Campaign Manager
How it works: School & Youth Programs consist of two campaigns, Pennies for Patients and Olive Garden's Pasta for Pennies. Students collect spare change for a three-week period during the school year and change lives for other kids who are sick with a blood cancer. The money raised is used to improve the quality of life of blood cancer patients and for research. LLS provides schools with all of the campaign materials, including coin collection boxes, posters, educational videos and parent letters, and the LLS staff will present an assembly about the program if the schools so desire.
In the current school year, roughly 40,000 students in 700 schools across the state of Illinois will participate in School & Youth Programs. Through the combined efforts of teachers, students and school administrators, roughly $900,000 will be raised for blood cancer research and patient services.Duties and Responsibilities:
Contact registered schools to check on their program completion
Prepare thank you packets as donations are received
Update and create material for the new school year
Help prepare end of the year reporting
Prepare last year's survey results
Update campaign website
Enter datat into various software systems
Other tasks as assigned
This is a part-time internship, with 15-20 hours per week between the hours of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday.
