Light The Night Walk Hits Goal of $816,000


Sept. 28, 2012 -- On Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, the Gateway Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) hosted their 14th Annual Light The Night Walk.

Fundraising teams consisting of 10,000 friends, family members and co-workers walked in this event, which will fund lifesaving research and support for people battling blood cancer. Their efforts culminated in an inspirational and memorable evening walk.

"We had 456 teams fundraising for this event, but on Sept. 28 they became one team for one goal: to help patients with blood cancers live better, longer lives by finding a cure," says Debbie Kersting, Executive Director of the Gateway Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Light The Night, which raised $816,000, was possible in special part to multiple community partners, including:
