Patient Education


The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) sponsors free community-based education programs for patients, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals.

Local doctors and other healthcare professionals lead these programs, described below. You will get information about treatment options and learn how to strengthen your decision-making and coping skills, manage treatment side effects and find resources, including financial assistance.

Thursday, May 9th - Understanding Blood and Bone Marrow Transplants and Current Advancements.  Presented by Asad Bashey, MD, PhD of the Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia.  Begins at 12:00 noon at First Presbyterian Church (520 Washington Road, Savannah).  There are no fees, however, pre-registration is required.  To register, contact Erin Smazik at: Erin.Smazik@lls.org or call 404-720-7831.  Complimentary lunch will be provided to all attendees.
