The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), a 501(c)(3) organization, is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to finding cures and better treatments for blood cancer patients.  LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services to blood cancer patients and their families.  LLS is made up of 61 chapters nationwide and branches in Canada.  The funds raised by the Georgia Chapter provide services and education to blood cancer patients living throughout the state.  The revenue also supports the most promising blood cancer research so that community oncologists will have access to the most effective treatments - treatments that are the collective work product of countless lab researchers, clinicians and trial participants.  Right here in Georgia, LLS has $1.2 million in research grants committed to Emory University and $1.68 million committed to Georgia Regents University in Augusta.  Additionally, LLS provided over $1.5 million in financial assistance to patients in Georgia this past year.
