Title of Immediate Supervisor:  Event Specialist

Principle Function:
The LTN Event Intern is responsible for assisting with all aspects of events as assigned for the Light The Night Campaign, including but not limited to logistics, equipment & supplies, volunteer coordination, and budget management. They are to provide assistance and administrative support and day-to-day operations of the Light The Night Campaign. The LTN Event Intern reports to the Event Specialist.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Event Management

  • Assist Event Specialist with managing all aspects of Walks & special event related planning; including vendor relations, volunteer coordination and in-kind donations.
    Manage Walk equipment, supplies and signage.

Volunteer Management:

  • Assist with recruiting volunteers for each of the Walks.


  • Assist, as assigned, in the development and implementation of other chapter activities. Maintain a working knowledge of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® mission and its programs to address them.
  • Perform other functions and activities as directed by the LTN Campaign Managers or Campaign Staff.


  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program with junior level status or higher.
  • Graduate of College with Bachelor's in Business, Marketing, Event Planning or related degree.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, Publisher).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects.
  • Able to demonstrate flexibility and quickly adapt to changes while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure.
  • Able to work well within a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members whenever necessary.
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

This internship is unpaid - potential for class credit is available pending school approval.
