Take Steps Towards Cures
Students Can Save Lives, Too
Each year, students participate in LLS School & Youth Programs and join in the fight against cancer. In the past 16 years these kids have shown how powerful they can be by raising more than $233 million to fund new therapies and patient services. To register your school or to learn more, visit www.schoolandyouth.org/de or call Jessica Holland at 302-661-7300 ext. 2368.
Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection, Peer Support
Have you ever wanted to speak with someone who really "knows what you are going through"? The First Connection program does just that! It "connects" patients and caregivers, over the phone, with trained volunteers who share their special perspective on the recovery process to learn coping skills and gain hope. If you would like to receive a First Connection Peer call or if you are interested in becoming a First Connection Volunteer (patients must be 6-12 months off treatment), please contact Michelle Sobczyk at 302-661-7300 ext. 2367.
Patient Services Committee, Members Wanted
The Patient Services Committee assists with and participates in the assessment, planning, and promotion of various patient services programs and projects. It also helps to build and increase awareness about LLS to health care professionals, colleagues, patients, and to the general public as the opportunity presents itself. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member of the committee, please contact Michelle Sobczyk at 302-661-7300 ext. 2367.
