Light The Night Intern

How many people can answer the question, "What do you do for a living?" with the answer, "I help find cures for cancer."  At LLS, employees take our mission seriously.  Whether you work in one of our chapters, are an accountant at the national office or a specialist in our Information Resource Center, you work each day on making our mission a reality:  Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Position Title: Campaign Intern, Light The Night, Central Pennsylvania Chapter
Location: Harrisburg, PA


  • Support a corporate recruitment event
  • Team and individual walker recruitment
  • Database work
  • Event press releases
  • Event logistics coordination
  • Administrative duties
  • Provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support for the Light The Night Walks
  • Prepares event related correspondence and reports and facilitates a committee to plan logistics for Walk Night
  • Maintains a working knowledge of LLS and our mission
  • Attends various community events to recruit walkers, committee members and fundraising
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • Minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills:  Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
  • Problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Will have knowledge of standard business applications and computers
  • Candidates with event planning or fundraising experience will be preferred, but not necessarily required
