The tournament is held at the beautiful Whirlwind Golf Club with its magnificent Devils' Claw and Cattail courses. Spectacular mountain ranges and unspoiled desert landscape surroundings will give your tournament experience an exclusive feel. Whirlwind's two 18-hole championship Troon golf courses are yours for the entire day.
This year we are thrilled to introduce Bob Barker from north Texas as our Guest of Honor at our 200-player tee-off. Bob co-founded the Links Fore Leukemia Golf Tournament in Texas along with Jim Willis, to raise funds for blood cancer research.
The Mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society:
Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
To date, The Leukemia & Lymphoma society (LLS) has invested more than $814 million in research aimed at helping all blood cancer patients live longer, healthy lives. We will continue to support research through our innovative and integrated funding programs, until every patient has safe and effective therapy. In fiscal year 2012, LLS invested $72 million in research of which almost $6 million was focused on pediatric cancer research.
Research: LLS's grant program is one of the most prestigious in the fields of hematology and oncology. LLS currently underwrites the work of nearly 400 cancer research projects in 12 countries throughout the world.
Patient Services: LLS provides a range of services, such as local support groups, an extensive educational website, free seminars and conferences. Any patient diagnosed with a blood cancer may apply for our co-pay assistance program.
In Arizona: More than $1.5 million has been distributed as direct patient financial aid and more than 21,000 Arizonans are currently affected by blood cancers.
Education: LLS serves as the world's foremost source of information on blood cancers including an Information Resource Center, an extensive collection of free educational materials, professional education and an award-winning website. Locally, the Arizona chapter hosts numerous free educational programs for medical professionals, caregivers and patients.
