Man & Woman of the Year

Man & Woman of the Year, presented in 2007 and 2008 by Dedicated Logistics, is a unique fundraising campaign in which business and community leaders vie for the prestigious titles of Man & Woman of the Year. During the ten-week campaign, candidates raise funds in honor of The Boy & Girl of the Year. At the end of the campaign, the top fundraising man and woman are named The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year.

The 2009 campaign will kick off in early April, and conclude with a Grand Finale Gala in mid-June.  For more information, or to nominate someone to become Man or Woman of the Year, contact Cathy Swanson Girsch, Sr. Campaign Director, at (763) 852-3014.

Congratulations to the 2008 Man & Woman of the Year:
Brad Hayes and Michelle Kelly!

Hayes, a Special Education Teacher at Carver-Scott Education Cooperative, raised $56,248.  He dedicated his campaign to his father, father-in-law, and two close friends, all who have had or are currently fighting leukemia or lymphoma.  Kelly raised $26,177; she is Director of Installations and Acquisitions for Medco Health Solutions.  Kelly was motivated to participate by a close colleague who had been touched by this disease.

Thank you to all ten of the 2008 candidates for committing their time and resources to this important cause.  You are all winners in the fight against blood cancers!

Melissa Abdouch, The Hartford
